Not only were the flowers really beautiful when they arrived but the majority of the display is still fresh looking as they have been in a coolish conservatory. I removed faded lilies and one rose after New Year but the carnations etc are still going strong. As it is now 16th Jan.that is quite amazing.
My sister and I grew up in the forties and fifties very close to your Zetland Road shop where, as children, we would buy a posy of anenomes for our mother on Mother's Day so the name Edith Wilmot evokes memories for us and my sister will have remembered the name. Ordering flowers from abroad is a matter of trust and this display could not have been better.I emailed a photo to Canada.

I know your store as I lived in Bristol for 17 years, so did not need to “surf” the web. I always prefer to shop (especially online) with an organization with which I am familiar. In addition, you always produce very creative and attractive arrangements and have a good reputation in the city.
The website was easy to navigate although the delivery options confused me a bit. I was ordering on a Sunday evening, and it wasn’t clear to me whether the flowers could actually be delivered on the Monday. In the event, they were which was excellent, as the recipient is quite unwell. The recipient reported to my mother that the flowers were really lovely. The arrangement did not look to be very large on the website, but she said there were so many flowers that she made two full vases of them. She particularly appreciated the fact that they were long-lasting chrysanthemums and carnations.
Last February I had ordered flowers from you for my mother’s birthday. Something happened and nothing was delivered to her. However, as soon as I emailed you, I got a positive response, a fast delivery of what I had ordered plus a “bonus” arrangement to make up for the mistake. I will definitely shop again with you, both online and in person when I am visiting from Canada.

I didn't want that, for no reason other than the fact that I know my wife prefers pink and lilac colours and most of the Valentine ones had red roses included whereas the Spring selections didn't so I went direct to the florist instead of the agency, and found that all the things that Interflora offer are simply repeating what the florists themselves are offering with the key difference that your website let me get a selection other than Valentine selection delivered on the date I wanted. I've used both Edith Wilmot and other florists direct in the past as well as agencies like Interflora and Flowers Direct. You're all pretty good and I haven't had many problems and when I did have one a year or so ago ( not with you but someone else who delivered the wrong selection via Interflora) it was rectified promptly and quite generously with another delivery of the correct selection. The quality is normally good and usually draws a delighted response from the recipient - I've never had a comment about flower quality other than very satisfied anyway. Keep it up please." |

An added bonus on checking out (and I thought that that was quite clever too, you made checking out happen almost instantly, so I as the customer had no time to change my mind which I had done with two other websites I had just been into) was finding just two simple address boxes (one for the payer and one for the recipient) which did not insist on using a computer address finder which always makes life difficult. It was good too to have the simple price boxes and to have delivery included in that price. Altogether a good website I would say. All of these referred to the Zetland Road shop in Redland, so I went straight to your website. Having arrived there, it said you were the oldest florists in Bristol (often a good sign, as lots of florists in London come and go as quickly as the Dutch truck pulled up outside). The website was reassuring and (apart from having to register before going to check out) was easy to follow. Long range flower orders for relatives and friends are often a bit hit and miss, depending on the season, but you had some designs of your own apart from the Interflora standard offerings, and they looked nice. Being in Wimbledon, I haven't seen the flowers myself, and probably won't, having not asked for a picture! But my daughter sounded very pleased when she rang later on yesterday. Many thanks - a good experience, and one I may well repeat if my daughter remains in Bristol, which she shows every sign of doing, since arriving at the university 11 years ago." |

Gillian, who must be one of your best customers, is going through a rather rough patch now and was thrilled to receive the beautiful basket of flowers. She was surprised to have her photo taken and I was really very happy to see it by email within a couple of days. Unfortunately, a year later when I needed to send flowers again (my mother would say I don't send flowers often enough), I had lost your address and didn't want to ask my mum for it (it was supposed to be a surprise) and ended up using another local florist. My mother was most disappointed, as the flowers were nowhere near the same quality or freshness, and I, when I saw them, got the feeling I had paid more for the packaging than the flowers. I’m not sure why you seem to have 2 websites. The thing I would find helpful is a little bit more explanation – although there is a good start with the hints and tips. I really feel like it’s in your hands when I’m ordering. I don’t really know what the difference is between a £30 bouquet and a £35 bouquet for example – I’m trusting the fact that the £35 bouquet will be bigger and better than the £30 one I ordered last time. It would be good to explain or show examples of how the difference price brackets are defined. A glossary of terms might be useful. For example, I don’t really know what the difference will be between a raffia bow or ribbons in reality! When I first used you back in July I had done a lot of asking around because quality can vary and I was keen to make sure the flowers were of a high standard. I work in research so it’s in my nature to be certain that I’m getting the right thing and going to the right place! At the time I flicked through the yellow pages as I was living in Bristol and I also felt that I wanted to visit the florists to see what it was like for myself – and also on that occasion I needed to drop off a card to go with the flowers. I was living in St Andrews so Edith Wilmot was quite nearby. I wandered down one evening and read the testimonials in the window and it seemed good and when I went in to order the flowers - I felt reassured they would be of a good standard. When my partner received them she was delighted. They also lasted nearly 3 weeks and her comment was “you can tell they’re good because they don’t all bloom at once and have lasted ages.” I’m also pretty busy and don’t get much spare time in the day so if I find a service that is good I will generally stick with it. If it’s rubbish, of course, I’ll never use it again. And I was impressed last time and expecting the same this time. Hope this is useful. Regards," |

Each time the (same) recipient has always been more than delighted with the quality of your flowers and I have been happy with the service. The first time I used Edith Wilmot was around 6 years ago and at the time I was looking for a good florist in the Clifton area. If I recall correctly the recommendation came from a work colleague. Even though the recipient has now moved from Clifton to Butcombe I still wanted to give her the same pleasure she has had in the past from receiving flowers from you. I very much hope this proves to be the case once again. As far as your website is concerned, I had absolutely no difficulty in navigating my way around it and wouldn't hesitate to use it again. One question I would raise is how do you produce the greetings card to accompany the flowers? (I have never actually seen this). Is it hand-written or printed? When I was writing the message, I was deliberately spacing my sentences and forming small paragraphs but upon receipt of the confirmation the message was shown as one paragraph. Do you actually get to see my original formation as input into the order form? Just small points but important just the same. I hope this is of help to you. Each time the (same) recipient has always been more than delighted with the quality of your flowers and I have been happy with the service. In fact, after arrival of the flowers I usually get a message saying 'Edith's been again!' The first time I used Edith Wilmot was around 6 years ago and at the time I was looking for a good florist in the Clifton area. If I recall correctly the recommendation came from a work colleague. Even though the recipient has now moved from Clifton to Butcombe I still wanted to give her the same pleasure she has had in the past from receiving flowers from you. I very much hope this proves to be the case once again. As far as your website is concerned, I had absolutely no difficulty in navigating my way around it and wouldn't hesitate to use it again. One question I would raise is how do you produce the greetings card to accompany the flowers? (I have never actually seen this). Is it hand-written or printed? When I was writing the message, I was deliberately spacing my sentences and forming small paragraphs but upon receipt of the confirmation the message was shown as one paragraph. Do you actually get to see my original formation as input into the order form? Just small points but important just the same. I hope this is of help to you. If you had sounded bored or too busy or if it had been an obstacle for you to come to Nailsea, I would have taken it no further. I checked testimonials and liked what I read. They sounded genuine.
